Sennen - the wind coming off the sea isn't cold although we're into November. The surf is roaring and I can hear an unidentified bird in the distance. On this gloriously sunny Sunday morning I'm looking out at Cape Cornwall and The Brisons, taking lungfuls of pristine sea air.
It's beautiful - so why don't I make work about it? We're down here several times a year and I sketch my surroundings, visit galleries filled with coastal paintings but usually bring urban themed pieces in progress with me.
I'm surrounded by pattern and colour which I record diligently.
Maybe one day it will fuel a body of work but, as yet, it hasn't lit that spark in my imagination.
